In a world that literally runs on bad news, I have something legitimately positive to share with you.
A little over a year ago, I was in contact with a fellow about producing some podcast episodes for him. We had come to an agreement on a price, frequency, etc. and actually got to work. That's a minor miracle in and of itself, but I digress.
Long story short, the cat paid reasonably
on-time, so much so that I decided to keep doing it. But eventually he dropped off the map, with an unpaid balance of...more than $10 ;)
A full ten months passed, and out of the blue, my phone had a notification that a deposit had been made into my paypal account, and it was from this guy. He said he was sorry he lost contact, but that he wanted to publish more podcasts.
I told him I'd be happy to help him out with it provided he pays his overdue
balance.
And no, I don't charge late fees or "interest" in such situations. I have no "interest" in doing something so completely contrary to sound living. I'd just as soon lose a few bucks and go on living my life than do something like that.
Anyway, this morning, again several months after our last contact, the balance was paid in full - and we're making a plan to make some more podcasts.
And this time everything will be
prepaid.
In this world where people's promises seem to hold about as much weight as a fortune cookie, this was a welcome development. And I guess we'll see what comes of it.
I don't know exactly why I've shared this, except to report that there are still some conscientious people in the world, and those are the types I want to do business with.
If you're in need of some help with the technical side of anything that has to do with click a
button that says "publish", maybe we're a good fit to work together.
