Today’s email is me shamelessly gushing over my wife, Sana.

If you’ve followed this email newsletter for any length of time, you know that Sana recently arrived in the US after a very long time processing her visa.

3 months after her arrival, she got the hankering to get out of the house and find some gainful employment. I happened to see a flyer for a new hotel on the oceanfront of Virginia Beach where we live who is hiring staff for when they open in a few months.

Sana shows up at the job fair all dressed up in subdued yet distinct garb, while all the other jobseekers show up in jeans and sweatshirts.

Long story short is the general manager immediately notices her, pulls her aside and an hour and a half later Sana had a conditional job offer from the Cavalier Hotel, which is the swankiest hotel in town. Yesterday she had her final interview and she begins around the first of February.

This is kind of like applying to work for the local single A baseball club and walking out with a contract to play for the Yankees. Not an exact analogy, but it’s quite an achievement for the new girl in town.

When I asked her how she felt after this cool development, Sana simply replied, “I’m not even there yet,” or words to that effect.

True deprecation and sums up her character perfectly.

No huge call to action in todays email, I’m just proud of my wife and felt the need to brag about her with y’all :)
